Home Renovation (Barnes & Noble Basics, January 2004) is a how-to book for homeowners who would like to renovate but need to know the basics. Topics include planning a renovation, financing, hiring architects and contractors, and chapters on kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, attics, basements and storage, as well as a glossary.
Entertainment Architecture: Technology & Design (PBC International, 2001) profiles innovative examples of how architecture and interior design are used to inform and entertain. PBC International was a publisher that specialized in books about and for architects and designers. While the book was geared to this professional audience, the publisher also wanted to make the subject accessible to laypeople interested in the field. The text was written to accompany, but not compete with, the lavish photography, and each entry was limited to 300 words. I also wrote the book's introduction and jacket copy.
